After the grand success of Mohali and Gurgoan cluster, CII – AVANTHA Centre for Competitiveness with United Nation Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) initiated a cluster in Jalandhar for handholding the Hand Tool companies to enhance their competitiveness. The cluster was launched in March 2006 with 11 companies committed to move forward and to achieve the excellence in manufacturing. The centre offered inputs on manufacturing excellence to the cluster members by determining the areas on the shop floor to take them to new heights of excellence. Once again the project has proved beyond doubt that learning through sharing is a much better way to enhance one’s own competitiveness.
