Training Implementation |
Poka is a Japanese word meaning “inadvertent errors” and Yoke comes from Japanese word Yokerie meaning “to avoid”. This has also been termed as “Mistake/Fool Proofing” or “Fail Safing”. The idea behind poka-yoke is to free a person’s mind from maintaining repetitive vigil which may be practically infeasible. By doing so a person without the fear of making mistake can constructively do more value added activities.
The usefulness of Poka-Yoke lies in that it reduces waste in time due to less rework in materials due to less scrap being produced, and in manpower as more time is spent productively.
This deal with Mistake Proofing of the process, its importance, types and method to incorporate them in the system to prevent the mistake. It is supported with exercises and videos for developing the skills to find mistakes and act proactively on implementation of eliminating them. |
